Polaroids.

Years ago I spent a lot of time [ahem and money] searching out old film for my Polaroid SX-70 camera.  I found a bunch of expired stuff, started buying from Project Impossible [whose film was so unstable that I couldn’t reliably expect quality imagery] and even experimented with image transferring.  All in all it was a FUN time and one that both helped me with understanding the frame of square format as well as learn to slow down to appreciate analog photography.  Now we have “filters” on instagram, edit styles in photoshop [ie. totally rad actions and visual supply co.] and a multitude of ways to seemingly replicate what you will see below.  Tight work, kinda.  Beautiful, in its own way, FOR SURE! Classic, yup.  I found these from 2011 while going through my libraries in prep for updating my website, I hope you dig.

Anna + Roland Wed {Wedding Photography} Charleston, SC

Today is February 1st and its 60+ degrees out.  Reminds me of late spring.  Thought I would post a late spring wedding shot in 2014.  Anna + Roland married at the Creek Club in Mt Pleasant and could not have been more fun to shoot.  What a beautiful day!!

Study: Yoga Posture aka Asana.

So I taught Yoga [specifically vinyasa if that means anything to you] for a bit over five years before deciding on fully committing to photography….aka known as the “husslin” years when I taught yoga, worked as an assistant/2nd photographer, a high end personal chef, garden consultant….and any random job I could find to pay bills and buy camera gear.  Its an interesting world Yoga is.  A blessing for so many and a deeply effective way to calm, restore and rejuvenate.  In truth I do not practice formally so much with the postures in a studio, yet I would not be where I am without aspects of the practice which help ground me when deadlines loom, projects become complex and I think my brain will explode from creativity [and coffee HA!].  Anywho, the point is I will shoot yoga now and again [had a fun feature last fall with Womens Health where I got to work with the uber talented Kathryn Budig], yet I don’t think Ive ever released the work through this outlet.  SOOOO….here’s a couple pics I dig. Nothing crazy like a foot in an ear or a face looking at me upside down while levitating and making an organic smoothie.  ;-)

Triangle….aka one of the greatest feeling postures I practice….love triangle.  probably would marry triangle if I already wasn’t married and triangle was more than a movement….wow, Kanye west-esque conversation happening here.

Been too long…..

since I updated my website.  I know, no excuses.  total slack.  SO as I recovered from the holidays and a knee surgery [the former being epic, the latter ending great], I realized NO EXCUSES.  So I sat with a HUGE amount of help from V and Ninja, along with a rotating cast of other brilliant creatives for feedback.  As I compile the final selections I decided to put one image from each category that I dig as a “teaser”.
